C.B.D. – Stands for: Care for your Body Daily
CBD stands for “Care for your Body Daily”. Ok, not really. Of course, CBD is short for Cannabidiol, the non-psychoactive substance found in cannabis plants. If you are new to learning about CBD or think of it only as a treatment for certain challenges, consider turning that abbreviation (CBD) into a new acronym: “Care for your Body Daily”. The impact of daily CBD use for every person’s health and well-being can be powerful.
CBD is already famous for helping with certain types of epilepsy and treatment of many types of ailments from anxiety, chronic pain, depression, sleep challenges and more. With everything you hear about CBD helping individuals with various health challenges, sometimes people miss out on the opportunity to care for your body’s systems every day. Keeping things in balance as part of a healthy lifestyle means putting CBD into your daily routine.
The Basics – How Does CBD Affect the Body?
Using CBD to care for your body daily allows its’ natural balancing properties to work in your system. CBD is received by two types of receptors (CB1 and CB2) in your body’s Endocannabinoid System (ECS).
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a complex cell-signaling system that plays a role in regulating a range of functions and processes. Research has linked ECS to many basic functions, including:
- appetite and digestion
- metabolism
- chronic pain
- inflammation and other immune system responses
- mood
- learning & memory
- motor control
- sleep
- cardiovascular system function
- muscle formation
- bone remodeling & growth
- liver function
- reproductive system function
- stress
- skin & nerve function
How Does Daily CBD Use Help You?
Have you ever taken a multi-vitamin every day because you believed it would help your body?
Taking CBD consistently every day helps the body to maintain a continuous amount of CBD in the system, which can bring overall balance to body and mind.
CBD may affect everyone a little differently, but there are common themes you hear from people using CBD as part of their daily health regimen. I “feel more like myself” and the reduction in anxiety is allowing me to be more focused at work and helps me fall asleep faster. It doesn’t give people the psychoactive effects of feeling high and does not create any hazy or lethargic feeling that you might find with relaxation drugs, such as melatonin.
The clarity and sense of well-being that comes with CBD use is very subtle can impact how you deal with stress and life in general. Do you ever wish that you didn’t get aggravated at that annoying work e-mail? Do you wish you could take a minute before responding to a stupid Facebook post? CBD can’t guarantee you won’t have those issues, but it may help you stay balanced and calm and consider things before firing back.
Methods For Daily CBD Use
Probably the most popular way to take CBD daily is to take CBD Oil's or Tinctures sublingually. The word sublingual refers to putting a few drops underneath the tongue. It’s very fast-acting and an effective, easy way to get your daily CBD dose. This can be done with a variety of products, from your basic CBD oil, to a broad-spectrum or full-spectrum oil, to products with additional “Terpenes” added. For additional information about what those terms mean, please read our post on CBD 101.
Other techniques include using CBD oils as food additives, using the wide variety of topicals, enjoying edibles (gummies or dried fruit are popular), using a spray versus the drops under the tongue, or vaping CBD just to name a few. The important thing is to find a way you are comfortable with and to do it consistently.

Finding the Right Daily CBD Dose Is Important
It is important to find the right dose to ensure CBD is having a real impact for your body. The dosing guidelines vary by type of CBD product, so please read dosing instructions first. The general advice people give is to start with a low dose and work upwards until you feel that it is having an impact. If you have any questions about specific products or dosing please feel free to contact us, and of course, it’s always a good idea to talk to your trusted physician prior to begin any daily regimen. CBD should be avoided if your current medication warns you from eating grapefruit, for example.
Share Experiences and New Scientific Trials
As of November 12, The Food and Drug Administration has granted approval to the Yale School of Medicine and CT Pharma for human drug trials to study the efficacy of cannabis-based medicines. The study will be the first with FDA approval to test cannabis on human subjects. The growth of the CBD industry and massive anecdotal evidence for health benefits is providing the momentum and funding for official FDA studies. These will help us all learn more about the impacts to different types of individuals, how dosage impacts results, direct and secondary benefits to the body, and much more. That study is just the beginning, and as that evolves, it’s important that the CBD community continue to share their experiences. Please feel free to share your thoughts and experiences with using CBD daily.
